This study presents an assessment of the benefits and challenges of educational cooperation between Nigeria and Germany from 1960 to 2021. Through an analysis of historical data and academic literature, it explores key initiatives and programs implemented as part of this partnership. The research evaluates both the positive impacts such as improved technical training, institutional reforms, and research collaboration also the challenges, including structural barriers, funding dependency, and policy inconsistencies. By highlighting the successes and limitations of past and ongoing efforts, the study provides a nuanced understanding of the partnership’s effectiveness. It also identifies areas where future improvements could enhance sustainability and mutual benefit. The findings offer practical insights for policymakers, academic institutions, and international development actors engaged in educational exchange. Ultimately, this study contributes to the broader discourse on international educational cooperation by using the Nigeria-Germany case to explore how such partnerships evolve and what conditions support long-term impact.
