Abstract

In an era defined by rapid technological innovation, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into educational practice has become widespread, yet it often overlooks the cultural dimensions of learning. This opinion paper contends that culturally responsive AI is not a luxury but an imperative for aligning technological capabilities with the diverse identities and lived experiences of students. it was argued that embedding cultural responsiveness into AI-driven instructional tools through localized content, multilingual interfaces, and community-informed design strengthens learners’ sense of belonging, motivation, and self-efficacy. Drawing on principles of culturally responsive pedagogy and critiques of algorithmic bias, the paper examines how standard AI applications risk perpetuating inequity when deployed without attention to culture. It then advances a series of suggestions for developers, educators, and policymakers: prioritize participatory co-creation with communities, curate diverse training datasets, conduct regular bias audits, and support teacher capacity for culturally informed AI use. By framing culturally responsive AI as a critical necessity rather than an optional enhancement, this paper advocates for an educational paradigm in which technology amplifies human potential equitably, empowering all students to thrive in twenty-firstcentury classrooms.
