With the ancient and medieval philosophical traditions on the values of human labour, this paper appraised Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II)’s conception of the Acting Person. It is an ethics of living that the human person as the subject of lived-experience and the true agent of development. The conception of the person as an acting agent of development in terms of the values of labour questioned the imposing technological and industrial employments of AI in the place of the human person. With this philosophy of the phenomenological ethics of the Acting Person, the paper questions the contemporary employment of AI in replacing the values of the human labour. Employing the phenomenological method of analysis, the paper concludes that the human society should not be overtaken by the easiness in achieving by and through AGIs, and the, neglecting the characteristics of human labour which help the human person as an acting agent of development to sustain self-authenticity, self-participation and self-dynamism, the qualities that make the person really human
