Every society has threats of criminalities ravaging the environment and robbing them of peace. Criminal issues were found and addressed in the Bible times as a compass for the contemporary society to follow. Some humans constitute themselves as nuisance to the society and there are laws and law enforcement agents that stand to these challenges otherwise the society would have been tormented daily without protection. Criminal laws in any society act as watch dog that bark and bite. Obviously, this research strides to looking into criminal laws in the Old Testament, prosecutions and remedies, offences against God and their punishment in the Old Testament, offences against human Life in the Old Testament and offences against family. However, this research made use of the historical method in its analysis in which research materials were consulted. It went further to recommend amongst others that appropriate measures be taken to punish criminals in the manner of the Old Testament times for peace to prevail in Nigerian society.
