SURVIVAL AND SUSTENANCE OF NIGERIAN EDUCATION SYSTEM IN A COVID-19 PRONE SOCIETY THROUGH E-TEACHING AND ELEARNING

Abstract

Corona virus disease 2019 (Covid-19) also known as the Corona Virus or COVID- 19 is a contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus 2 (SARS- CoV-2). The risk of infection is highest when people are in close proximity for a long time or touching contaminated surfaces. The transmission of COVID-19 occurs when people are exposed to the virus-containing respiratory droplets and airborne particles exhaled by an infected person. Corona virus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has caused unprecedented crisis in all areas of life. In the field of education, its emergency has led to the massive closure of face-to-face activities of educational institutions to prevent the spread of the virus. Using critical analysis, the researcher discovers that the only strategy for the survival and continuity of education in a COVID prone society is through online platform of eteaching and e-learning.
