Over the years Nigeria as a nation usually adjusted her educational planning programmes and systems of management to enable her meet up the challenges of globalization. The adjustment has been viewed in terms of policy introduction and reversal. This means that the functions of policy in the achievement of education standard cannot be over emphasized. This paper looks at the Nigerian educational view of assessing, appraising the success recorded, the challenges and a way forward. This paper made recommendations for the government and the stakeholders for proper and effective educational standard in Nigeria.
