The study focuses on the Identification of Senior Secondary School Biology Content Areas Perceived to be Difficult by Teachers and Strategies for Improvement in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State. It examined the difficult Concepts in Nigeria Senior Secondary School (SSS) Biology Curriculum as identified by the teachers and suggested Strategies for Improvement. The study adopted a descriptive survey design which sought the Identification of Senior Secondary School Biology Content Areas Perceived to be Difficult by Teachers and Strategies for Improvement in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State. The population of the study is thirty-six (36) Biology teachers in twenty-one (21) Government secondary schools in Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State. There was no sampling; the entire population was used because the population was small. The instrument used in collecting data was a structured questionnaire which was distributed to the population by the researcher and 3 research assistants. The researcher analyzed the data using mean and standard deviation and the hypothesis was tested statistically using t-test at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the data analysis revealed among others that the teachers identified the following concept as difficult concepts in senior secondary school biology curriculum; reproductive behaviours, terrestrial habitat, biology of heredity (Genetics), fruit, regulation of internal environment, transport system, nervous co-ordination, development of new organisms, variations in population, evolution. Besides, the teacher identified the following as the factors responsible for the identified difficult concepts unavailable instructional materials, inadequate teachers’ education curriculum, complexity of topics among others. The hypothesis was tested using t-test. The findings of the study showed that, there is no significant difference between the mean responses of male and female biology teachers on the content areas teachers identified as difficult to teach in senior secondary schools. Based on the findings, the researcher recommended among others that the teacher education curriculum should be overhauled to include revision of some concepts in the senior secondary school mathematics curriculum. Also, teachers should be sensitized to make a personal effort to develop themselves adequately in their specialized subjects.
