THE LOGICALITY OF GENDER EQUALITY THROUGH CHINAKONAM’S EZUMEZU LOGIC

Eric Ndoma Besong
Abstract

The ageing and continuous illogical, irrational and subjective perspectives on gender differences between men and women call for contemporary logical clarifications with Ezumezu logic. Consequently, women are continuously relegated and plagued with gender woes. Ezumezu logic, considered the prototype of African logic, is multi-dimensional in scope and approach. This study looks at gender equality through the lens of Chimakonam’s Ezumezu logic. In doing so, the thrust of Ezumezu logic is appraised in brief, highlighting all its major embodiments: its etymology, principles, structures, methods and three pillars of thought; its global and African philosophical and multi-contextual realities and relevance; and its ontological notion of complementarity. The study submits that Chimakonam’s Arumaristic, Ohakaristics, prevalence, context principles, three complementary laws of thought and the wedge-implication embodiments of Ezumezu logic aptly ground the logicality of gender equality across global cultures. It thus sanitizes all and sundry on this logical reality and calls for a new world order that would always consider men and women as equal beings in all regards despite their existential differences that ought not be polarized and negativized. Attitudinal change, culture reformation and favourable genderconcerned legislations are the recommended panacea.
