This research work provides a brief overview of the Igbo proverb “onye ?s?”, and ‘onye ije”, lightening its significance and relevance in various aspects of human life. The proverb’s emphasis on perseverance and progress is shown to be a powerful message that can inspire and motivate individuals to achieve their goals. The methodology used in this article is a qualitative phenomenological method. This was carried out by interviewing some members of Igbo society, observing and interpreting events in Igbo society and as documented in literatures. Primary and secondary methods were used. Research works of researchers were used. However, observation and oral interview questions were used to gather data. It was found that Igbo people really adhere to the proverb, “Ebe onye ?s? ruru ka onye ije ga-eru”.
