Knowledge of genotype and Rhesus factor compatibility is a moral imperative and medical necessity for protecting future children and promoting marital stability. This study finds that informed decision-making regarding genetic health embodies the virtue of prudence and aligns with the Catholic principle of responsible parenthood, rather than contradicting divine providence. The paper addresses the gap in public awareness regarding the integration of scientific screening with spiritual stewardship, particularly for parents and prospective couples. Through a methodology of theological reflection and medical literature review, this article synthesizes Catholic moral theology with clinical facts about sickle cell disease and hemolytic disease of the newborn. Ultimately, it recommends integrating medical counseling into formal marriage preparation to ensure couples exercise informed stewardship over the life and health of their families.
