ON THE LIMITATIONS OF EXISTENTIALISM
Existentialism as a philosophical trend could also be considered as a reaction to certain orientations in philosophy in different epochs. Since it is concerned about the human experience, it raises its eyebrows to other forms of expression like literary forms,as against the backdrop of universal assimilation of an individual. Calling our attention to other areas of human realities, that may have been overlooked by mainline philosophy. However the limitation of existentialismcenters on its emphasis on subjectivity and interiority rather than exteriority, social life of the human person. This paper points out that, concern for the dignity of human person comes across as a point of convergence in this conversation of philosophers, upholding man as a being who has not only an interior life but an external life.
