The Focus of this paper is to analyze the covenant that established the relationship of the people of Israel with God. Thus, Jer. 31.31-34 in the book of Consolation is titled “the New Covenant.” It re-establishes the promise of God with the people of Israel, the promise they once had with God. The people of Israel at a time had gone after other gods after God made covenant with them and gave them the commandment at Sinai, they turned away from God but God decided out of his faithfulness to re-establish his promise to His people Israel. This paper reviews the basis of this New Covenant.
