THE DEMONSTRABILITY OF GOD'S EXISTENCE: A RECONSIDERATION

S. I. ADERIBIGBE
Abstract

This article is a philosophico-theological discourse on the question of God's existence. The question that is thus germane is the question of the nature of God and what we mean when we say he exists. Should it just be taken for granted that we know that he exists; and even if we do know, how can his existence be demonstrated? The attempt to demonstrate his existence seems to have given rise to three distinct positions that more often than not are contrary to one another. In the final analysis, this article holds that this attempt to prove God's existence, in the service of faith are not responsible for why believers believe in God.
